Reduced Rate Training Sessions and Payment Plans
I strive to make my effective, humane, dog training services available to as many people as possible, so I offer a limited number of reduced rate training slots every month. The reduced rate is 25% off my regular hourly rate, or off a training package.
If a reduced rate training slot isn't available at the time you contact me, it can be reserved for a future month. Please email me about your dog's behavior issues to see if we are a good fit for working together.
Please be mindful that if you request a reduced rate but are able to pay my regular rate, you are limiting access to professional, quality training for people who need help with their beloved dogs, but who truly need this reduced rate. Thank you for your understanding.
Payment plans
I offer no-fee, zero interest payment plans through my scheduling software, Acuity, for some training services. Please email me for more information about payment plans.
If you have adopted a rescue or shelter animal, and need behavioral support
Please begin by reaching out to the organization where you adopted your animal. Many organizations have resources available to their adopters. If additional support is needed, please have the organization submit a case request to the Humane Alliance of Rescue Trainers (HART) on your behalf.
The Humane Alliance of Rescue Trainers is a network of rewards-based training professionals who volunteer to provide free behavior consulting for dog guardians through their animal rescue organizations.
Why is dog training so expensive?
Here is just some of what a one-hour private training or class fee covers when you hire a credentialed, rewards-based trainer:
- The time to prep for each session
- The time to write follow-up notes and homework for each session
- Training gear and treats for lessons
- Renting space for classes
That hourly rate also covers the costs of:
- Continuing education: workshops, seminars, books, conferences (would you want a trainer who didn't keep their knowledge current?)
- Running a business: state business license, liability insurance, advertising, professional services, professional memberships, taxes, credit card processing fees
- Office supplies, software, and equipment (yes, we need computers, printers, pens, and paper too!)
The net income after expenses supports our household.
